CICS messages and codes data set	DFHCMACD	A VSAM key-sequenced data set (KSDS) that is created and loaded by running the DFHCMACI job. Service changes can be applied to the DFHCMACD data set by running the DFHCMACU job. The CMAC transaction uses the DFHCMACD data set to provide online descriptions of CICS messages and codes
dump		To write the contents of part or all of main storage, or part or all of a minidisk, to auxiliary storage or a printer. See abend dump
dump analysis and elimination	DAE	A z/OS service that enables an installation to suppress SVC dumps and ABEND SYSUDUMP dumps that are not needed because they duplicate previously written dumps
dump code		(1) In CICS Transaction Server, a predefined name by which a dump is known. There are two types of dump code, transaction dump codes and system dump codes, used in transaction dumps and system dumps, respectively. A dump code can be defined by CICS or the user and is used to select a set of system actions. These actions are held in either the system or transaction dump table. See also system dump code, system dump table, transaction dump code, transaction dump table (2) In CICS/VSE, a predefined name by which a transaction dump is known
dump table		A table of dump codes to enable a user to vary the system actions taken when a dump is produced for a particular dump code
Dump Viewing Facility		A component of VM/ESA that lets users display, format, and print data interactively from CP hard and soft abend, stand-alone, and virtual machine dumps process CP trace table data stored on tape or in a system trace file and display symptom records
ESTAE		Extended Specify Task Abnormal Exit. An z/OS Assembler macro instruction that provides recovery capability and gives functionality to the user-specified exit routine for processing, diagnosing an abend, or specifying a retry address.

Interactive Problem Control System	IPCS	A component of MVS and z/OS that permits online problem management, interactive problem diagnosis, online debugging for disk-resident abend dumps, problem tracking, and problem reporting
INZUTILB		The utility used to unload from the DB2 table. High performance may unload ABEND0C4 with possible data loss when unloading from a view which is not supported by HPU (and therefore must be passed to DB2) and the DB2 variable is set to YES.
IPCS		Interactive Problem Control System. A component of z/VM that facilitates on-line problem management, interactive problem diagnosis, on-line debugging for disk-resident CP abend dumps, problem tracking, and problem reporting. Replaced by DVF.
message flood condition		A condition in which the number of incoming messages that are waiting to be processed by OTMA threatens IMS performance or rises above acceptable limits. A message flood condition occurs when too many transactions are waiting to be processed by OTMA, and can deplete all available local system queue area (LSQA) storage and result in a z/OS abend
PACKED		This is also referred to as PACKED-DECIMAL or COMPUTATIONAL-3 or COMP-3. A numeric encoding scheme used on a mainframe. For example, an unsigned number of 12345 would be stored in memory on the mainframe system as x'F1F2F3F4F5' (EBCDIC-encoded, zoned-decimal format).?If the same number was defined as PACKED (or COMP-3) it would be stored in memory as x'12345F'. In this example the packing of the number reduces the size from five (5) bytes to three (3) bytes. The low-order nibble of the low-order byte is used as the sign. If an arithmetic operation is attempted on a field defined as COMP-3 and the field contains non-numeric characters then a data exception error (S0C7) will ABEND the attempt. program manager domain		A CICS domain that provides support for the following: program control functions transaction ABEND and condition handling related functions such as invoking user-replaceable modules, global user exits, and task-related user exits autoinstall for programs, mapsets, and partitionsets
SQL return code		The SQLSTATE or SQLCODE that indicates whether the previously run SQL statement completed successfully, with one or more warnings, or with an error

status code		A two-character code in the program communication block (PCB) mask that indicates the results of a DL/I call. See also PCB mask
system abend		An abend caused by the operating system's inability to process a routine. See also user abend

system recovery table	SRT	A table listing the ABEND or abnormal condition codes that CICS will intercept
transaction abend code		A four-character code, defined by CICS or the user, that is used when abnormally terminating a transaction. CICS-defined transaction abend codes begin with the letter 'A'. A transaction abend code is used to indicate the cause of an error that may have occurred in CICS code or in a user program. See also transaction dump code
transaction dump code		A name of up to four characters by which a transaction dump will be known. When a transaction abend causes CICS to create a transaction dump, the associated transaction abend code is used as the transaction dump code. See also dump code, transaction abend code
transaction dump table	TDT	A CICS table which may contain an entry for each transaction dump code. See also dump code
user abend		A request made by user code to the operating system to abnormally terminate a routine. See also system abend
